TERRA.track Geologischer Lehrpfad

The TERRA.track "Geological nature trail" leads for a total of around 9 km through the "Hüggel", a wooded ridge between the municipalities of Hasbergen and Hagen a.T.W. at around 225.6 m above sea level. The word "Hüggel" is derived from the Middle High German "Huyle", which means "cave". This also explains the mining of mineral resources such as iron ore, silver ore and limestone. Above and below ground, the entire area is full of holes, fissures and caves. Around 3 km of the TERRA.track are marked out as a variant, which can be hiked along the former course of the Hüggelbahn railroad without barriers.
