The Sinninger mill in the suburb of Saerbeck of the same name is one of three remaining Dutch windmills in the district of Steinfurt. Originally used for the production of baking and animal feed, the mill now serves as a fire station and also houses an exhibition on the history of Saerbeck's wind and water mills. The 22 metre high building was erected around 1866 by the miller Theodor Eilers. Over the course of time, he constantly adapted the mill technology to the times, from wind to motorised power and on to electric drive. In 1996, it was protected as a monument and thoroughly renovated in 2001.
VisitMost of the mill interior is used as a fire brigade equipment hall and is therefore not accessible. On the upper floor there is an exhibition on the history of the Saerbeck wind and water mills. This can be visited by appointment. Guided tours are also offered.

ApproachSaerbeck is located in the northern Münsterland, the Sinninger Mühle is in the western suburb of the town.
By car: Via A1 at exit 74 Ladbergen on B475 towards Saerbeck. Via the town centre again on the B475 towards Sinningen. The mill is signposted and is on the left.
By public transport: Saerbeck does not have a railway station, but several bus lines cross the municipality. The S50 bus runs hourly between Ibbenbüren and Münster, calling at various stops in Saerbeck. From Saerbeck Friedhof take bus line R62 to Ruhmöller, from there it is about 400 metres on foot.
Parking spaces
There are a few free parking spaces at the Sinningen windmill.
