Fascinating Dörenther Cliffs
The four-kilometre-long Dörenther Cliffs in the Teutoburg Forest in Ibbenbüren are mighty, mystical and impressive. If you hike here, you are also taking a walk on the beach. This may sound a little surprising at first, but a brief digression into the history of the earth lifts the veil: the beach is quite old and the sand has since turned to stone.

If you visit the Dörenther Klippen, you can plan a whole day or more to explore the surrounding area with its numerous excursion destinations and places to stop for refreshments. The nearby summer toboggan run and fairytale forest amusement park is particularly suitable for a family outing. The park is lovingly designed in a nostalgic and family-friendly style. Among other things, you can experience the oldest summer toboggan run in Germany, as well as play and picnic areas, catering and many other surprises.

Do you fancy a break, relaxation and natural garden design? Only around two kilometres from the Dörenther Klippen hiking car park is the NaturaGart Park, a pond and garden landscape covering around 40,000 square metres, where rare kingfishers can dive and dolphins can be seen.
