Hiking in the Ibbenbüren "Ore Mountains"

This hike leads through the Rochus forest area on the southern slope of the Ibbenbürener Bergplatte. Hikers follow the old tracks of the drag railway, enjoy the view of the Teutoburg Forest and reach the legendary Düwelsliet. The devil is said to have wreaked havoc in this gorge before he was banished with holy water and prayers. After the climb out of the gorge, you are rewarded with a walk along the Liebesweg. Numerous stately beech trees along the way give an idea of how popular this romantic forest was with lovers thanks to the carved hearts and initials. After a good three hilly kilometres, hikers arrive back at the starting point.
