The start is at junction 80, at the market in Mettingen, not far from the Michaelbrunnen fountain. From there, the route leads out of the town in a north-westerly direction into the first farming communities. From there, the route crosses the northern part of the farming communities. Here, extensive wet meadow areas open up in the "Düsterdieker Niederungen" nature reserve - a valuable habitat with a tranquil atmosphere.
From there, the route climbs gently towards Schafberg. Here you can enjoy views of the countryside around Mettingen and beyond. The route continues over the Schniederberg past vantage points to the centre of Mettingen and through the Köllbachtal valley back to the starting point. In the Köllbachtal valley, you can cool your legs in the treading pool or try out the forest ball track.
