"In the middle of it instead of just being there" could be the motto at the Rheine Nature Zoo. Experiencing animals up close and personal, raising awareness of the need to protect species and the environment, while at the same time providing the animals with a home as close to nature as possible. This is the motto of the Rheine Nature Zoo.
The Rheine Nature Zoo is home to about 1000 animals from 100 different species. The special thing about the nature zoo is that visitors get particularly close to the animals and thus gain a detailed insight into the individual habitats of the animals. Birds find optimal conditions in the stork reserve and wading birds also feel particularly at home in the nature zoo. In the monkey forest you can come into direct contact with the animals and a little further on you can observe seals even under water. The new bear enclosure for the sloth bears, who share their home with the golden jackals, is particularly beautiful. Kangaroos, llamas and pampas hares live in the extensive meadow enclosure.

ParkingThere is a large car park directly at the zoo, which is also suitable for buses.
Arrival
The NaturZoo is located on the northern outskirts of Rheine in the immediate vicinity of the Bentlage Monastery and the Salinenpark.
You can reach the zoo by car from the direction of Bad Bentheim and Osnabrück via the A30 or B70n. Follow the signs to "ZooBentlage".
If you are travelling by train, get off at Rheine Hbf. The bus line "C12 Saline Tierpark" goes to the NaturZoo.
