The Torfmoorsee is a popular recreational area in Hörstel. The 24-hectare lake is a quarry pond that is now particularly popular with water sports enthusiasts, but also for cycling and jogging or walking.

Arrival
Lake Torfmoor is located near the A30 motorway in the northern Münsterland region between Ibbenbüren and Rheine.
Getting there by car:
A30 motorway, Hörstel exit.
Travelling by bus and train:
Hörstel railway station, Rheine - Löhne railway line.
Distance by bike: approx. 2.5 kilometres.
Arrival from Osnabrück main station with bus line F10 to Torfmoorsee in Hörstel, via Westerkappeln, Mettingen and Ibbenbüren.
