• Path conditions: The route is flat throughout and leads along a mixture of well-maintained forest and meadow paths. All sections are easily accessible. Continuous signposting enables safe orientation even without maps.
• Benches: Numerous benches along the trail invite you to take a short break and relax.
• Rest stops: There are a variety of places to stop and rest in the town centre.

Anreise:

Travelling by car:

• Mettingen is easily accessible via the A30 motorway - exit Ibbenbüren, then follow the signs to Mettingen.
• Alternatively, you can take the A1 motorway, exit Osnabrück Hafen and continue via Westerkappeln to Mettingen.

Travelling by public transport:

• The Münster local and long-distance railway station can be reached from various directions
• From Münster with the S50 bus line to the terminus Ibbenbüren, Busbahnhof
• Continue with bus line R20 to the terminus Mettingen (Westf), Schultenhof
• 3 min walk to St. Agatha church

Beschreibung:

• From the information stand, the route leads northwards past the town hall and the Telsemeyer house via the old town hall square to the Mettinger Schultenhof. After the subway, continue straight on to Schultenstraße. Turn right at the third cul-de-sac and follow the footpath to Ringstraße.
• Then follow Ringstraße to the right, cross Georgstraße and enter Stauffenbergstraße. After around 50 metres, the path branches off to the right into Geschwister-Scholl-Straße, which leads to Bachstraße. Cross this road and continue along a footpath past meadows to the next junction. Here the path turns right across a children's playground and along a stream to a small bridge that leads to Hirschberger Ring and on to the rainwater retention basin.
• After the rainwater retention basin, the route runs to the left along a field path alongside the stream and past fish ponds to Strooteweg. There you turn right until you reach the crossroads, then left into Frechtestraße. After about 500 metres, the route continues onto Aaweg.
• Go straight on at the next crossroads past the dog sports ground. The Aaweg bends to the right until the next junction. There, a dirt track on the left leads to the next crossroads at the wind turbine. From here, continue right until after a good 100 metres you turn left into Brookstraße in front of a residential building. There is a beautifully situated rest area on this road.
• The path continues to the next crossroads, where it turns left into a field path and after about 300 metres right into Schöllbrookweg. After crossing the road, the path turns right at the next junction and leads past the Nierenburg shooting club to Brookstraße. Turn left along this road, past the "Drögen Hook" picnic area and onto Strooteweg. After about 150 metres, turn left through the "Dräumespättken" to Nierenburger Straße.
• Follow the road to the right for around 150 metres, then turn left into the road "Up'n Brink". After another 150 metres, turn left again into "Schoolpättken", which leads to Nordhausener Eschweg. Follow this to the right until you reach Hügelstraße, then turn right and after about 80 metres turn left along a footpath to Woorteweg.
• Follow Woorteweg to the right until you reach Nierenburger Straße. After about 150 metres, a footpath behind the Josefschule school leads into a small park with newly planted trees.
• In front of the indoor swimming pool, the path leads past the pump track, crosses the Ninja Outdoor Park and Bahnhofstraße. Turn right there, continue across the car park of the rehabilitation clinic to the Protestant church - and finally back to the starting point at the information stand.
