Beschreibung:
  • From the information stand of the local heritage association, the trail first leads in a southerly direction. A footpath runs past the multi-generational playground and the mill pond. After crossing "Kardinal-von-Galen-Straße" and "Teichstraße", you reach Köllbachtal.
  • There you continue along the Köllbachweg. At a fork in the road, the route follows the "Wieher Kirchweg" to the left. After about 50 metres, the "Prälatenpättken" hillside path runs parallel to the Köllbachweg, past the Waldkugelbahn to the water treading pool with benches.
  • From here, the trail continues along the historic church quarry to the next junction. There the path turns left and runs through a wooded area to the road "Zum Nordschacht". After crossing the road, another forest path leads to "Schwarze Straße".
  • Here you follow the cycle path to the left for around 50 metres, then cross the road and turn into the road "Am Waldschlösschen". After the second bend, a narrow path branches off to Schlangenpättken.
  • On the Schlangenpättken, turn right down into a hollow and then left through the Leyschulten-Liet - a small valley - into the Ölmühlental. The trail runs along the slope on a narrow forest path to the "Ölmühlenweg". This tarmac section leads back to "Schwarze Straße".
  • From there, follow the cycle path uphill to the right, then turn left onto a grassy path below the campsite. Here, a bench with a panoramic view of Mettingen and the North German Plain invites you to linger.
  • The path then leads downhill onto a dirt track. Keep right there until you reach the "Grüner Weg", then turn left and after about 50 metres cross a footpath to the "Bergstraße". The way back is via "Bürgermeister-Meyer-Straße" and "Kardinal-von-Galen-Straße" back to the Heimatverein information stand.
