Beschilderung der Strecke:

The Vennroute is signposted. The route is integrated into the red and white cycle route signage as an insert sign/pictogram. The insert sign is located directly below the destination signposts. The integration into the dense Münsterland-wide cycle route network with its junction system makes it particularly easy for those unfamiliar with the area to find their way around. This also makes it easy to choose shortcuts or detours according to individual requirements.

Beschreibung:

The Emsdettener Vennroute is a wonderful 35-kilometre cycle tour that leads through the picturesque moors and wet meadows of the Münsterland. This route is ideal for cyclists who want to enjoy nature and discover the beauty of the region.

The tour starts and finishes at the Hof Deitmar museum island in Emsdetten. This historic farm is the only remaining of four "original farms" in the former village and is now home to four interesting museums. From here, the route leads through peaceful countryside, lined with hedges and birch avenues, in a westerly direction to the Emsdettener Venn nature reserve. A viewing tower offers an excellent opportunity to admire the surrounding nature, especially the white cotton grass that blooms in early summer. A walk on the moor adventure trail deepens the experience of nature.

The tour continues south along the "Hindenburgdamm", past Lake Grafenstein and the Borghorster Venn. The meadows along the Max Clemens Canal, one of the most important wetland conservation areas in the Steinfurter Land region, offer further impressive views.

Finally, the route returns to Emsdetten, where you can enjoy a refreshing break in the town centre.
