Right at the start of this cycle tour, there is a mountain stage on the Schafberg plateau. The route takes a leisurely descent towards Uffeln, then follows flat paths through the "Heiliges Meer" nature reserve. The cycle route continues to Steinbeck and then climbs back up to the Dickenberg. The route continues along the Rudolfschacht spoil tip through sparse woodland before descending briskly. A little further along the southern slope of the Schafberg plateau and the starting point comes into view.
