White-beige rock faces, turquoise-blue water and sparse vegetation give the so-called canyon in Lengerich its special charm. After the limestone quarry was closed down in the 1980s, a turquoise-blue lake formed on the lowest quarry floor. Visitors can enjoy this extraordinary landscape from three viewing platforms. The canyon itself and the surrounding landscape are under nature conservation - so it is not possible to enter.
The canyon is one of the "listening experience stations" in Lengerich.
The hiking trail "Teutoschleife Canyonblick" leads directly past the canyon.

Parking at the CanyonA free car park is available at the cemetery chapel in Lengerich.
Arrival
Arriving by car:
Lengerich is conveniently located on the A1 motorway. To get to Canyon Lengerich, guests take the "Lengerich" motorway exit.
From there, continue on Ibbenbürener Straße in the direction of Lengerich, keeping to the left. Then take the first exit at the roundabout.
Drivers are now on Tecklenburger Straße K2, follow this for about two kilometres and then turn left into Mühlenweg.
Follow the road straight on until you reach the sculpture park and the cemetery chapel. This is the entrance to the hiking trail to Canyon Lengerich.

Rail route: Osnabrück - Münster
Rail connections: RE 2 (Osnabrück - Düsseldorf), RB 66 (Osnabrück - Münster).
Distance sculpture park/hiking trail: approx. 3.6 kilometres, approx. 43 minutes walk
Bus route R45 Ibbenbüren - Lengerich, Mühlenweg bus stop, also possible from Lengerich railway station.
