Aasee Ibbenbüren

Ibbenbüren

Ibbenbüren's Aasee lake is as varied as the city itself. The lake, which is located near the town centre, is one of the most popular places to go for guests and citizens of Ibbenbüren. There is a wide range of activities on offer: you can relax on the 2.7-kilometre-long circular path during a walk or round off your hike through the Teuto region perfectly at the specially built beach club with sandy beach. Directly on the lake, there is also a skate park, a dirt bike facility and several children's playgrounds. Puzzle fans can answer questions at the Ibbenbüren Aasee Rallye around the Aasee.

Information on the emergence

The Ibbenbürener Aasee was created in the 1970s in the course of the motorway expansion of the A30. The lake is intended to serve as a flood retention basin and local recreation area for the town of Ibbenbüren.
